Here's the Reason Why We're Making This Offer
In 1995 KSLQ was one of the original stations on the St. Louis Rams Radio Network. We broadcast the Rams through the 90's all the way through 2007. The Rams are back on KSLQ for 2009.
Yeah, we know, the Rams have not been tearing it up for the last few seasons. So you may think twice about becoming a Rams Play-by-Play Sponsor. That's why we've dusted off our sales promotion from 1999.
Remember 1999? The Rams had a lot of hope going into the season, primarily because of the new QB Trent Green. But Green got his knee blown up in the pre-season. Then the Rams announced they were going to replace Green with this guy from Iowa who used to play in the Indoor League and who had most recently been stocking grocery store shelves. Fans, and our advertisers, were less than impressed and said the Rams were going nowhere. Well, you know the rest of the story. Kurt Warner turned out to be the story of the decade as he guided the Rams to win the Big Game!
In July of 1999 we came up with this idea that we would only charge our clients for the advertising that ran during a week when the Rams won. If the Rams lost, our advertisers got the week of ads for free. We started the 1999 season with one advertiser. And then the amazing season started and we sold out our Rams broadcasts and had a waiting list after week four. So here we go again.
